A four foot five inch 90 pound Turkish immigrant woman, used an axe to defend herself in an attempted armed robbery in Brookhaven, New York. When the masked armed robber attempted to hold her up, she withdrew an axe from behind the counter, and proceeded to have at him. The cowardly armed robber fled the scene with the diminutive store clerk in hot pursuit.
